DMX began to rap from the mid 1990s. In May 1998, the rapper released his debut album, It's DARK and HOT. He released several albums, such as... and Then There Was X as well as the Great Depression Year of the Dog... Redemption of the Beast, Grand Champ. The album, titled...And then was X was nominated for the Grammy in 2001 for Best Rap Album in 2001. Apart from his rap endeavors he had also appeared in films such as Lords of the Street Belly Top Five Exit Wounds That Will Never Be Alone, The Bleeding Romeo Must Die Backstage Beyond the Law Lockjaw Rise of the Kulev Serpent and Fast and Fierce Death Race.
